Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art that focuses on controlling an opponent's aggression using leverage, body positioning, and submission holds. It has been battle-tested in countless self-defense situations, professional mixed martial arts matches, and is used extensively in the military and law enforcement. Every instructor at Gym 1801 is an accomplished martial artist and grappler, and is passionate about teaching others. Come learn this dynamic art in a fun, hands-on environment that's perfect for all ages and fitness levels.

Our program is led by Jeff Serafin. Jeff has over 26 years of experience and is a third-degree black belt in BJJ, a black belt in Goshin Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do Concepts, and has an extensive background in Thai and Western boxing. Jeff was a professional MMA fighter and has trained under world-renowned instructors Jack McVicker and Megaton Dias.
