1801 Terms of Membership
ACCEPTANCE OF MEMBERSHIP
At 1801, we carefully consider each membership application, ensuring a harmonious fit within our community. Upon acceptance, your membership begins on the agreed start date, forming a binding contractual agreement governed by the Terms and Conditions of membership.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
In joining 1801, members acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Personal Property: The Club, its Company, directors, employees, or agents are not liable for the loss, damage, or theft of personal property on the Club’s premises.
- Death or Injury: The Club, its Company, directors, employees, or agents are not responsible for any death or injury occurring on the premises or as a result of using provided facilities, food, beverages, supplements, and/or equipment. Exceptions apply when such incidents result from negligent acts or omissions by the Club, the Company, or their agents.
MEMBERSHIP
1801 is committed to creating an inclusive and enjoyable fitness experience. To ensure a harmonious community, members must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Age Requirement: All candidates for membership must be at least 18 years old. Memberships for candidates under 18 years old must be approved by management.
- Physical Condition: Members must be in good physical condition, capable of active or passive exercise without detriment to health. Any changes in physical condition must be communicated to the Club’s manager promptly.
- Individual Membership: Granted upon acceptance and adherence to the Club’s terms, conditions, and rules.
- Couples Membership: Governing individual member rules apply, with joint and several liability for contract value and related costs.
- Non-Transferable: Memberships are personal and cannot be assigned, transferred, or loaned. Founder Memberships may have specific conditions regarding freezes and rejoining.
- Corporate Membership: Available to five or more employees from the same company, subject to verification.
- Fraudulent Information: Providing false information for discounted membership will result in the cancellation of membership rights without refund.
PAPERLESS CHARGE ACCOUNT
Enjoy the convenience of a paperless charge account by adhering to these guidelines:
- Account Requirement: All members must have a charge account for cashless transactions throughout the Club.
- Payment Methods: Complete 1801 Direct Debit agreement or provide credit/debit card details upon joining.
- Payment Dates: Monthly memberships will be charged to members’ accounts on the 15th of each month, with prorated adjustments for activations before or after that date.
- Subscription Changes: Members must ensure ongoing subscription payments, with any increase notified 30 days in advance.
- Unpaid Balances: Unpaid balances 30 days after the due date result in immediate payment of all monies owed to 1801.
- Account Statements: Obtain account statements from the reception desk and promptly notify the Club of any payment method changes.
By authorizing 1801 Holdings Ltd to charge your monthly membership and additional purchases, you agree to abide by the terms outlined in your cardholder agreement.
ACCESSING THE CLUB
To ensure a smooth experience at 1801, please adhere to the following:
- Check-In: Members must check in at the front desk using their mobile app barcode, or other provided access methods. Re-entry requires re-checking at the front desk.
- Identification: The Club may request photo identification, maintain a copy on file, or verify identity before entry.
- Good Standing: Access may be restricted if there are outstanding payments or if the membership is not in good standing.
MEMBER CONDUCT
Members are expected to contribute positively to 1801 community:
- Respectful Behavior: Act respectfully and responsibly, considering others’ physical and personal space.
- Unruly Conduct: Inappropriate behavior, harassment, or aggressive actions may result in membership limitations, suspension, or revocation.
- Cell Phone and Camera Use: Restricted in private areas; courtesy and discretion are expected on the Club floor. No promotion of personal or third-party business through photos or videos.
- Inclusivity: 1801 promotes an inclusive environment respecting all gender identities. Individuals may use the locker room associated with their identified gender.
- No Outside Trainers: Personal training services by non-employees are prohibited. Members may not offer or receive such services.
- Children: Children under eighteen (18) years old are not eligible for membership. They may use the Club as guests when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. While in Club premises, children must be accompanied at all times by parents or legal guardians. Restrictions apply, and a waiver is required for children’s programming.
- Weapons: Firearms and other weapons are strictly prohibited within Club facilities.
- Service Animals and Pets: Service Animals are welcome, but owners must ensure control and adherence to guidelines. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted for the safety of all members and animals alike.
GUESTS
At1801, we encourage a sense of community and welcome members to share their experience with guests. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Electronic Guest Passes: Upon joining, members receive electronic guest passes for their current term. Once exhausted, additional guests or unused passes incur a $30 day fee.
- Guest Restrictions: 1801 reserves the right to limit club access and hours for guests, control guest frequency, and deny access to specific individuals.
- Accompanied Guests: Guests must be accompanied by the member at all times, and the member remains responsible for their guests.
TERMINATION AND CANCELLATION OF MEMBERSHIP
At 1801, we value the conduct of our members and strive to maintain an environment that aligns with our community-focused values. Please take note of the following guidelines:
- Reprimand, Suspension, or Expulsion: 1801 reserves the right to reprimand, suspend, or expel any member whose conduct is deemed injurious to the Club’s character or interests. The decision of the Proprietor is final, and no appeal is allowed.
- Cancellation During Initial Period: Monthly subscription members cannot cancel during the initial membership period, except for specific circumstances such as relocation (over 15 miles), long-term injury/illness (with medical proof), redundancy (with employer proof), or pregnancy (with written proof).
- Cancellation After Initial Period: After the initial period, members can cancel by providing written notice by no later than the 5th of each month, or 10 days prior the billing cycle. Any outstanding sums will be collected via Direct Debit or charged to the nominated card.
- No Refunds for Advanced Payments: Memberships paid in advance are not eligible for refunds.
REFERRAL PROGRAM
Enjoy the perks of our referral program by following these rules:
- Eligibility: Members earn a complimentary gift card for referring individuals who commit to a 6-month membership. Referral gift cards are credited within thirty days of the new member joining.
- Program Terms: Valid only for new members committing to a 6-month membership. Former members rejoining or those with short-term or junior memberships are not eligible.
- Membership Status: Members in good standing are eligible, excluding those with past-due balances or complimentary memberships. 1801 reserves the right to modify or terminate the program at its discretion.
PERSONAL TRAINING
For an effective and enjoyable training experience, observe the following guidelines:
- Cancellation Notice: Provide 24 hours’ notice when canceling or rescheduling personal training appointments to avoid a full-service charge.
- Package Expiry: Training packages have varying expiration dates, with refunds available for relocation or serious injury/illness with proper documentation.
- Exclusive Trainers: Only trainers employed by 1801 are authorized for training sessions.
GROUP EXERCISE, YOGA, AND ALL COMBAT/BJJ CLASSES
Ensure a seamless class experience by following these guidelines:
- Punctuality: Arrive on time for classes, and inform instructors in advance if you need to leave early.
- Health Concerns: Discuss pre-existing injuries with instructors and adjust participation accordingly.
- Attire: Wear appropriate attire for all classes. Provide a 12-hour cancellation notice to avoid a $5 charge.
NON-RECORDING OF CLASSES OR ACTIVITY AGREEMENT
Respect the privacy and integrity of our classes by adhering to the following:
- Inclusive Content: You may record and post lawful, non-offensive content related to your participation in a session with participant consent.
- Policy Violation: Violating this policy may result in exclusion from activities. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 1801 for any resulting claims or actions.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Stay informed about club hours and operations:
- Normal Hours: Request normal operation hours from the Club or check the website.
- Regeneration Amenities: Sauna, cryotherapy, and lounge close 30 minutes before the Club closes.
- Club Discretion: The Club may vary opening times and close facilities for cleaning, maintenance, or special functions. Special hours apply during bank and public holidays.
GENERAL
Ensure a seamless experience at 1801 by familiarizing yourself with these general guidelines:
- Services Variation: The Club may, due to uncontrollable circumstances, vary, add, or eliminate services. Members remain liable for all fees.
- Employee Services Approval: Members must obtain prior approval from the Club’s General Manager before engaging employees or independent contractors for services outside the Club.
- Loss or Damage: The Club is not responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of personal property on its premises.
- Locker Usage: Articles left in day lockers overnight may be removed, and the Club is not responsible for the contents. Lost property is stored temporarily, and unclaimed items may be donated to charity.
- Club Maintenance: Regular maintenance may require partial or complete facility closures. The Club does not refund or compensate for such closures.

- Marketing Communications: We may use your data to provide special offers, promotions, and information about 1801 and our partners. You can opt-out of marketing emails, but operational communications will continue.
- Changes to Privacy Policy: The Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Please review it to stay informed about our privacy practices.

CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 SPECIAL LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
1801 prioritizes safety during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, implementing preventive measures. While we strive to create a secure environment, it is impossible to guarantee complete immunity from COVID-19. By attending the Club, classes, events, and activities, you acknowledge the potential risk of exposure or infection. Understanding the contagious nature of COVID-19, you voluntarily assume the associated risks, including personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. This risk may arise from actions, omissions, or negligence by yourself, other members, attendees, or 1801’s employees. We appreciate your commitment to the health and well-being of our community during these challenging times.
